Third day press note of the 7th All India Defence Accounts Department Table tennis Tournament

Chandigarh, 5th September, 2012:   Sh Kaushik D Sarkar of Principal Controller of Accounts (factories) Kolkata emerged champion in the men’s single category and smt. Manisha Mazumdar of Principal Controller of Accounts(factories) Kolkata in women’s category.  Similarly Sh Kaushik D Sarkar and Debdoot Chatterjee of Principal Controller of Accounts(factories) Kolkata have won in men’s double category and Smt Tapsi sarkar and swapna Mitra of Principal Controller of Accounts(factories) Kolkata in women’s double category on the final day of 7th All India Defence Accounts Department Table tennis Tournament on Wednesday.
In men’s category, the first runners-up in men’s single and men’s double category were Sh Amla Patra/ Sh Shantanu Saha and Amlan Patra both of Principal Controller of Accounts(factories) Kolkata respectively. Whereas in women single and women double category the first runners-up were Smt Tapsi Sarkar/ Smt Bharti M Vegadekar and Upasani R S of Principal Controller of Accounts(factories) Kolkata/ Principal controller of Accounts (Officers) Pune respectively. As many as 68 players (49 Male and 19 Female) from 24 offices of Defence Accounts Department from all over India had participated in four different categorize matches i.e. Men single, Men’s double, women single, women double in the three days event.
            A cultural programme was presented on the closing ceremony. Sh Narinder Gupta, IDAS, Principal controller of Defence Accounts (WC), Chandigarh called off the tournament and congratulated all the winners with thanks to all the participants and wishing them best of health and happiness. The last tournament was held at Kolkata in 2010 and Sh Kaushik De Sarkar of PC of (Fys) Kolkata was the winner in men category, while Smt Madhumita Prashant CIA, Kolkata in women category.
