Katoch Shield Finals at Dhruv Pandove Stadium Patiala

After the All India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket final at PCA Stadium Mohali, the focus has shifted to Dhruv Pandove Stadium Patiala where the four days Katoch Shield final will be played between league toppers Patiala and Chandigarh. The match which will serve as a barometer for selection of the Punjab’s Ranji Trophy and Under-25 teams.  The performance of the players will be keenly watched by the members of the senior selection committee, PCA and the cricket manager Mr. Vikram Rathore. According to Mr. Sushil Kapoor spokesperson PCA Mohali district which is the bottom rung team of the Elite Group will clash with Ropar District which has topped the Plate Group.  The play off match of four days will be played at Ropar. The Winners of this will qualify for the Elite Group for next year’s Inter District Competition.
All the matches will start at 9.30 a.m.

DECKS HAVE BEEN CLEARED FOR THE 2ND ALL INDIA UNDER-19 INVITATION TOURNAMENT FOR DHRUV PANDOVE TROPHY
Eight teams have confirmed their participation in the 2nd All India Under – 19 Invitation Tournament. The teams have been divided into two Pools with Pool-A consisting of  Punjab, Vidarbha, Odisha and Bengal while Pool-B will consist of Mumbai, Kerala, MPCA and HPCA.  The league matches will be of two days duration and will be played at  Patiala , Chandigarh and Mohali.  All the matches will start at 9.15 a.m . The league stage will get over by 8th October while the four day final between No. 1 team of Pool-A and No. 1 team of Pool-B will be played at Dhruv Pandove Stadium Patiala from 10-13 October,2012. The winners will get Cash Prize of Rs. 1.00 lac and a winners trophy while Runners up will get a cash prize of Rs.50,000/- with runners up trophy. According to Mr. Sushil Kapoor Spokesperson PCA there will be a man of the match award for each match and special awards for best batsman, best bowler , and best all rounder will be given.  This is going to be a great opportunity for the Under-19 teams to get competitive match practice before the start of the Under-19 Inter State Championship soon after the conclusion of the tournament.
