Ranjit overcomes spirited Paramveer Bajwa

Chandigarh Rural Tennis Academy (CHART) trainee Ranjit Singh defeated CLTA trainee Paramveer Singh Bajwa in a marathon three setter U-18 boys singles final of the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament at Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.
The match lasted two hours and 45 minutes. Both Ranjit and Paramveer had qualified for the main draw after playing five rounds of qualifying matches. In the finals Ranjit took the 1st set 6-2. Paramveer fought back and took the 2ndset 6-4.
 In the final set Ranjit took a 4-1 lead. He was ahead 5-2 then Paramveer made a comeback by saving two match points 4-5. Ranjit on his fifth match point closed out the final set of the match at 6-4.
In the girls U-18 finals Mihika Yadav of Maharastra defeated top seed Rajbir Kaur of Punjab in a one sided match by 6-0, 6-2. Mihika Yadav partnered with Gayatri Kumhariah to win the doubles title defeating Vinita Singh and Anupreet Bedi by 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Paramveer Bajwa of CLTA defeated another CLTA trainee Sumit Pal Singh in boys under-14 final 6-2, 6-1.
Prinkle Singh of CLTA defeated Vaibhavi Deshmuk of Maharatra to clinch U-14 girls singles title. Prinkle won 6-1, 6-3.

Boys U-18 singles: Ranjit Singh bt. Paramveer Bajwa 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
Girls U-18 singles: Mihika Yadav bt. Rajbit Kaur 6-0, 6-2.
 Girls U-18 Doubles: Mihika Yadav and Gayatri Kumhariah bt. Vineeta Singh and Anupreet Bedi 6-4, 4-6 (4).
Boys Under-14:   Paramveer Bajwa bt. Sumit Pal Singh 6-2, 6-1.
Girls Under-14 singles:   Prinkle Singh bt. Vaibhavi Deshmukh 6-1, 6-3.
