as part of the league’s commitment to grow basketball in the country.

Horry, who played 16 seasons in the NBA for four teams, will be in Delhi to tip off the event on

September 15-16.

In addition, the man whose seven championships rank as the most of any player not to have

played on the legendary 1960’s Boston Celtics side, begins his India trip in Bangalore where he

will attend the Mahindra NBA Challenge Finals to be held on September 9.

Horry will then head to Delhi for the opening leg of NBA 3X presented by Sprite which will

autographs.

NBA 3X presented by Sprite will also visit Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai and features the

largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament ever staged in India with 400 teams expected to participate;

performances from top musical artists or well-known DJ’s each day; and a variety of on and off

the court activities for fans.

While in Delhi, Horry will conduct an NBA Cares event with Love in Action -- a Delhi-based

NGO which uses the sport of basketball to provide life-skills education to children from slums.

The 6ft 10in former forward who won NBA titles with Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers

and San Antonio Spurs, making him one of only two players to have won NBA championships

with three different teams, is also scheduled to undertake a tour of the Indian capital as well as

visit Kingdom of Dreams.

NBA 3X presented by Sprite is being supported by adidas, HP, Spalding and the Basketball

Federation of India (BFI). Sprite will send two participants from the national champion team in

the 18-23 division to NBA All-Star 2013. These two participants may get a chance to be part of
