MOHALI BATSMEN REVEL ON BATTING FRIENDLY MOHALI PITCH.

The wicket at PCA Cricket Stadium Mohali continued to be a nightmare for the bowlers for the 2nd day running. The lowly placed team in the tournament, Mohali continued to plunder runs at will and went on to amass 675 for 8 in 163 overs before declaring the innings closed. Resuming at 352 for 5 overnight Mohali lost their 6th wicket at 394 when Sachin Sohal was clean bowled by Avinash for 23. At this stage medium pacer Manpreet Gony joined Gurkirat Mann and the duo tore into the Chandigarh attack smashing all the bowlers allround the park to post 174 runs for the 8th wicket in 192 balls before Gurkirat Mann was caught by Simrat Bawa of off spinner Avinash for a well made century (115) off 112 balls embellished with 14 sweetly timed boundaries and three towering sixes.  Thereafter Manpreet Gony found an able partner in Harmeet Bansal and the duo put on 102 runs for the unbroken 9th wicket.  Manpreet Gony went on to record an unbeaten ton 108 off 178 balls studded with 6 boundaries and five huge sixes. Harmeet Bansal remained unbeaten on 50 off 72 balls aided by 5 boundaries and one sixe. Siddharth Kaul  2 for 77, Gurinder Singh 3 for 185 and Avinash  3 for 148 were the main wicket takers for Chandigarh

Chandigarh in reply were 27 for no loss in 12 overs. Jaskaran Singh unbeaten 17 and Vishwas Bhalla unbeaten 6.

In the 2nd match played at Dhruv Pandove Stadium Patiala Patiala resuming at 301 for 7 overnight were bowled out for 334 in 98 overs. Preet Kamal went on to complete his century 102 off 179 balls inclusive of 12 boundaries and three lofty sixes.  Ludhiana’s Sukhjinder Singh brought down the curtains on Patiala innings by claiming a Hat-trick in the 98th over in which he accounted for Preetkamal, Amaninder and Sarabjit Ladda to return the match figures of 4 for 86.  Rahul Singla  3 for 137 and Baltej Singh 2 for 22 were the other main wicket takers. 

Ludhiana made a feeble reply and were hustled out for 163 in 63.1 overs. Their innings was sustained by Davinder Sidhu  39, Gitansh Khera  26 and Himanshu Shailly  24. The Patiala spinning trio of Rajwinder Singh, Ankur Jund and Sarabjit Ladda held a vice like grip on the Ludhiana batsmen and did not allow them any respite.  Rajwinder 4 for 28, Ankur Jund 2 for 26 and Sarabjit Ladda 2 for 51 rattled the Ludhiana innings.  After taking a lead of 171 runs on the first innings Patiala skipper enforced the follow on. Following on Ludhiana were again in dire straits as they were reduced to 36 for 3 in 15 overs at draw of stumps. Rajwinder Gollu  once again proving to be the main tormentor by claiming 2 for 9. Ludhiana were staring at an outright defeat at close of 2nd days play.

In the third match played at Gandhi Grounds Amritsar Jalandhar were 210 for 6 in 72.5 overs at close of 2nd days play. Overnight not out batsman Manish Bhatia went on to complete a sedate century 101 off 206 balls studded with 17 boundaries. He was the 6th man out at the score of 210 in 72.5 overs.  Ishan Malhotra 2 for 25 and Yogesh Kumar  2 for 39 were the main wicket takers for Jalandhar.
