Chandigarh - Mohali Tie ends in a draw IN KATOCH SHIELD

The match between Mohali and Chandigarh ended in a draw without the first innings being completed at PCA Cricket Stadium, Mohali. Match was called off after tea because of heavy down pour. Chandigarh resuming at 248 for 2 were 405 for six in 162 overs, when  play was halted because of rain. Since the first innings could not be completed on account of Rain interruption both the teams got one point each.  For Chandigarh Vishwas Bhalla 137, Uday Kaul 40, Gurkirat Walia unbeaten 50 and Gurinder Singh 39 were the principal run getters today. For Mohali Varun Khanna 3 for 106 was the most successful bowler.

In the second match played at Gandhi Grounds Amritsar, Jalandhar were bowled out for 329 in 114.1 overs conceding a two runs lead to Amritsar. Taruwar Kohli 129, Abhishek Gupta 41, Sarabjit Singh 53 were the main run getters for Jalandhar. Kamal Passi 3 for 58, Sunny  3 for 61 and Sumit Sharma 4 for 79 were the main successful bowlers for Amritsar. Amritsar in their 2nd innings were 107 for 1 when the match ended.  Karan Sharma 42 not out and Navneet Singh 42 not out were the main run getters for Amritsar. Pargat Singh got 1 for 8 for Jalandhar.
