As expected Surjit Hockey Academy of Jalandhar will meet Chandigarh Administration-run Chandigarh Football Hockey Academy in the final of the 11th ONGC SN Vohra Memorial (U-14) Hockey Tournament being organized by Rock Rovers at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here today.
In the semi-finals, Surjit Hockey Academy prevailed over spirited CRZ School of Sonepat by 2-1 while CFH Academy eked out a narrow 1-0 verdict in their favour against SGS Vidya Mandir, Ratwar Sahib.
Surjit Hockey Academy were surprised by CRZ School by drawing the first blood in the 5th minute as Sunny converted a penalty corner. In a tough battle Surjit Academy were able to restore parity after Gurpreet converted a penalty corner in the 29th minute. Kuljeet clinched the match-winner for Surjit Academy through a field goal scored by Kuljeet in the 48th minute.
In the second semi-final match, Chandigarh Football Hockey Academy scored the solitary goal through Pushpinder in the 36th minute.
The final will be played tomorrow at 4 p.m
