Applications invited for National Youth Awards

The Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration invites application for “National Youth Award”2011-12 to be conferred on individuals/voluntaryoganizations, who/which have rendered voluntaryservices in different fields. As per the eligibility criteria the ageof individual should be between 13 to 35 years, on the  April 1 of thefinancial year, for which award to be conferred.
He should have rendered the service in the relevant field on voluntary/basis and likely to continue to involve himself/herself in such activities for at least another two years after the conferment of the award.  The
Govt. employees are not eligible for this award.
          The eligibility criteria for voluntary organization should be registered under the Society Act, 1860 for the last three years, having properly constituted managing body and not running on profit
basis.
      The award to individual will comprise a Medal, a Certificate, a Shawl and Rs. 40,000/- and for Youth Organizations will comprise a Medal, a Certificate, a Shawl and Rs. 2,00.000. The field activities to be taken into consideration include Social Work in the Rural Areas & Urban Slums, Promotion of National Inegration, adventure, Culture & Recreational Activities. Non-format and Adult Education Programme work for improvement of condition of the persons belonging to the weaker section of the society, S.C/S.T and Tribal Areas.
         The last date of receipt of the application(s) duly completed in all respect and recommended by the concerned authority should reach in the office of Shri. S.K. Joshi, Incharge Youth Affairs, Directorate of Sports, Chandigarth Administration, Hockey Stadium, Sector-42, Chandigarh latest by 05th September, 2012.
