Love Kumar faces Abhinav in final

It will be an all-Jalandhar affairs in the men’s singles final as Love Kumar crosses swords with Abhinav Manota in the final of the Carlton Senior State Badminton Championship being played in Jalandhar today.
Love Kumar proved too good for Jaswinder Singh, also from Jalandhar, in straight games 21-18, 21-6. At the adjacent court,  Abhinav Manota,down by the opening game, regained his form as he staged a smart rally to oust  Anand Tiwari of Ludhiana  17-21, 21-8, 21-10.
Damandpreet Kaur of Sangrur and Shahnaaz Khan of Jalandhar qualified for the women’s singles final. Damandpreet Kaur ousted Ritu Vinayak of Jalandhar by 21-19, 21-12 while Shahnaaz Khan struggled to overcome a stiff challenge from Rachita of Jalandhar in three well-contested games 15-21, 21-12, 21-18
