Sports Business : Reddentes Sports signs Thai badminton player Pornpawee Chochuwong

Reddentes Sports, the Singapore-based sports agency, has made its first move into athlete management, signing an agreement with Thai badminton player Pornpawee Chochuwong. The sports agency will handle Pornpawee’s global image and sponsorship rights in a two-year deal running to March 2022. Reddentes predominantly specializes in media rights sales but the company said it has fulfilled a “dream” in making its first foray into athlete management.

Reddentes Sports will move into their first athlete management with the signing of Thai shuttler Pornpawee Chochuwong on a two-year deal.

The deal will see the sports agency handle Pornpawee’s global image and sponsorship rights, effective from April 2020 to March 2022.

22-year-old Pornpawee is currently ranked No. 13 in the world since turning professional in 2004.

She won the Barcelona Spain Masters in February by defeating Carolina Marin and was a quarterfinalist in the All England Open in March. Her immediate target will be to represent Thailand at the Tokyo Olympic Games which has been postponed to July 2021.

“It has been a very successful year on the court so far and I am very pleased to have joined the Reddentes Sports family as their first athlete representative. However, the world has a bigger fight on our hands against COVID-19. While we do our part as individuals around the world to win this virus battle, I am keeping myself fit and ready to go when I can return to the sport I love.” Pornpawee Chuchowong.

“As a former athlete, I know the importance of image and professionalism, especially in the modern game. Reddentes Sports has always had a dream of getting involved in athlete management and bringing Pornpawee to the family as our first star signing shows our intent to compete with the best. We will do our best to bring her success off the court while she works her magic on it. Welcome MEW to the Reddentes family.” Yip Ren Kai, Managing Director.
