On the penultimate day of the ongoing british total tennis championship being played
at the british school sector-70 mohali , neel singh and manjot singh cruised into the
finals in their respective categories.
Neel singh defeated jaspreet singh in a tough encounter which lasted over an hour in
the boys u-10 bracket.neel singh who is the hot favourite in this tournament took an
early lead of 3-1.however jaspreet singh fought back and managed to make neel trail
by 4-3 , neel singh who is a smart planner on the tennis court played the big points
extremely well and took the control of the match by taking a crucial lead of 5-4 . In
the last game neel singh gave his opponent no room what so ever to even hit winners
and went on to win the game without even conceding a single point. Neel singh won
the match 6-4
In the boys u-14 bracket ankush nagpal defeated sumer sandhu in a yet another hard
fought contest which lasted over 80 minutes. Sumer sandhu of strawberry fields world
school and ankush nagpal both played neck and neck till 5-5 , in the tiebreaker ankush
nagpal displayed some solid ground-strokes and big serves to edge past his opponent ,
sumer sandhu also hit some good strokes but all his efforts to dominate the tie-breaker
and win the match went in vain . ankush nagpal ended the dream run of sumer sandhu
In the tournament with a final score of 6-5(7-4).
In the men’s category manjot singh outclassed parminder singh 6-3 and booked his
berth in the finals of the men’s category.
In the girls u-12 final aditit dogra edged past her opponent chahat 5-3,2-4,4-2
