IPL 2020 : 6 IPL Records were shattered in record chase by Rajasthan Royals and Tewatia’s power hitting

Rahul Tewatia and Rajasthan Royals did something unbelievable in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) on Sunday night. Tewatia’s six hitting show steered Royals to highest ever chase by any team in the history of IPL. Multiple records were broken left, right and centre. Check the list of 6 records which were toppled in the Match 9th of IPL. 
IPL 2020 Record 1 – 224 is the Highest ever chase by any team in the history of IPL. The previous record was 215 by Royals against Deccan Chargers in Hyderabad in 2008. Highest successful chases in IPL

IPL 2020 Record 2 – Most Runs Scored by any team while chasing from 16th Over till last ball – 86 Runs scored by Royals since the start of 16th over – the most by a team in the last five overs of a successful run chase in IPL. Royals were 140/2 in the 15th before hitting 86 off the last 4.3 overs. The previous best was 77, scored by Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2012. 

IPL 2020 Record 3 : Best Strike Rate in the Last 12 Balls of the Innings by Rahul Tewatia : Rahul Tewatia’s strike rate in the last 12 balls of the innings was 375, the best ever by anyone with more than 10 balls, the sequence reading 6.0.2.1.6.6.6.6.0.6.6.W. Mind it, in the first 19 balls of the innings, he struggled, scoring just eight runs without hitting a single boundary. 
 

IPL 2020 Record 4 : Seven sixes by Tewatia without a boundary is the joint-most in an IPL innings equaling Nitish Rana and Sanju Samson 

IPL 2020 Record 5 : 2nd Fastest Century by an Indian : Mayank Agarwal took 45 balls to score his maiden IPL century, the second quickest by an Indian batsman after Yusuf Pathan’s 37 ball ton against Mumbai Indians in 2010. 
IPL 2020 Record 6 183 Record Partnership :  The partnership between KL Rahul and Agarwal is the third-highest opening wicket stand in IPL. It is also the second-highest partnership for Kings XI Punjab for any wicket behind the 202-run stand between Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011.

IPL 2020 Most Sixes : Though not a record but 62 sixes have been hit in two matches hosted by Sharjah in 13th edition of IPL. 33 came in the match between Chennai and Rajasthan and 29 in this one. In comparison, the seven matches combined hosted by Abu Dhabi (33) and Dubai (32) so far have seen a total of 65 maximums.
