58TH NATIONAL SCHOOL GAMES CHANDIGARH 2012-13

CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 9: The Education Department, Chandigarh Administration is going to organize 58th National School Games in the disciplines of Cricket U-16 yrs Boys, Hockey U-17 yrs Boys and Girls w.e.f. 10.01.2013 to 15.01.2013. The approximate no. of participants expected is 1500 from all over the country. The Education Department has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of these sports events in the City beautiful, which are as follows:
CONTROL ROOM: The total control of the organization of National Games shall be looked after by the Control room set up at GMHS-42(PH. 0172 2676042).
1.    Arrangement for Reception of teams: Reception counters have been set up at the Railway Station, Bus stand, Sec-17 and Bus stand, Sec-43, Chandigarh. The coming teams shall be received and transported to the respective venues of stay.
2.    Venue of Stay: The following schools have been prepared for the stay of teams:

Keeping in view the climatic chill, the department has made provision of hot water for the players.

3.    Mess: The Education Department has set up three common mess for provide the food for teams which shall be at GMSSS-21, GMHS-42 and GMHS-43.

6.    Technical Committee and Jury of Appeal: The organization of competitions shall be looked after by the technical committee as per the rules and regulations of School Games Federation of India. In case of any objections the Jury of Appeal committee will take the decision which shall be based on the rules laid down by the SGFI.

7.    Transport Committee: A transport committee has been set up for transportation of players from stay venue to venue of tournament and back.
In addition to this the department has to constituted a Finance and Purchase Committee, Result, Record & Fixture Committee, Press & Publicity Committee, Eligibility Checking Committee, Video/Photography Committee, Committee for Opening and Closing and Medical and First Aid Committee etc for the smooth conduct of National School Games. 

Opening and Closing Ceremony: The Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of these 58th National School Games shall be held at Hockey Stadium, Sec-42, Chd. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to be held on 10.01.2013 at 10:30am sharp at Sports Complex, Sec-42, Chandigarh. Sh. V.K. Singh, Finance cum Education Secretary Chadigarh Administration, the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony will declare the meet open for the National School Games.
