Bengaluru enter second round of AFC Cup qualifiers

Bengaluru progressed into the second round of the AFC Cup qualifiers after beating Bhutan's Transport United 3-0 in the second leg of the preliminary stage here today. Boithang Haokip, Lalhlimpuia Daniel and Semboi scored for the hosts. In Foolad Shahr, Iran, reigning I-League champions Aizawl FC’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League were dashed after losing 3-1 to Zob Ahan in a playoff match. Aizawl have been disqualified from AFC Champions League but will get a direct entry into Group E of AFC Cup.

Rai, Chandela among 27 shooters named for CWG

Jitu Rai, Gagan Narang and Apurvi Chandela were named in the country's 27-member squad for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Gold Coast, Australia.
