Bengaluru progressed into the second round of the AFC Cup qualifiers after beating Bhutan's Transport United 3-0 in the second leg of the preliminary stage here today. Boithang Haokip, Lalhlimpuia Daniel and Semboi scored for the hosts. In Foolad Shahr, Iran, reigning I-League champions Aizawl FC’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League were dashed after losing 3-1 to Zob Ahan in a playoff match. Aizawl have been disqualified from AFC Champions League but will get a direct entry into Group E of AFC Cup.

Rai, Chandela among 27 shooters named for CWG
Jitu Rai, Gagan Narang and Apurvi Chandela were named in the country's 27-member squad for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Gold Coast, Australia. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) announced the full quota of 27 shooters (15 men and 12 women) after the organising committee of the games reduced the country quotas across sports. — Agencies
