The Chandigarh DanceSport Association spread out the red carpet to
honour three three local couples who put their best foot forward to
clinch three medals-----two gold and one silver------in the sixth
National DanceSport Championship held in Patna on June 3. The
well-attended glittering ceremony was held at Disco Score in Sector 8
here on Monday evening.
  The function was held by the Chandigarh DanceSport Association in
collaboration with Dance World, which has been training upcoming
dancers.
   Chandigarh DanceSport Association secretary-general Gursharan Singh
Sethi, just back from a worldwride promotion tour, gave away the
certificates and mementoes.
   Those honoured were gold-medallist couples Bandeep Rekhi and Soma
Rekhi (gold in cha cha cha and jive), Madhav Banati and Deliya Kaur
(juniors....gold in jive) and Madhav and Samia Rekhi
(juniors....silver in cha cha cha and jive).
  Also honoured at the function were two-year gold medal winning
brother-sister duo of Madhav and Tanaya (2010 and
2011---juniors....three dance categories)
  Rajiv Garg, technical adviser for the Chandigarh DanceSport
Association was given a special honour for his contribution to
dancesport in the region.
