ACTIVITIES
I am glad to inform you that
the National Adventure Club (India), Chandigarh is recognized as All India
Organization under Para 5.1 of the new Scheme for National Programme for Youth
and Adolescents Development of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports,
Government of India.
You will also be glad to know that 19th
National Adventure Festival is being organised by National Adventure Club (India ), Chandigarh
from 2nd February to 10th of February, 2013. About 350 young men and women in the age
group of 17 to 34 years from all over the country will be participating in this
national event. Each State Government
may sponsor 20 participants (10 boys and 10 girls each) and Union Territory
may sponsor one team of 7 boys and 7 girls each accompanied by a male and female
supervisor for each team. Apart from participants to be sponsored by the State
Governments/UTs we would welcome participants from recognized Adventure Clubs
and other similar Institutions engaged in the promotion of adventure sports to
send one team of 16 members of 7 boys and 7 girls each accompanied by
Supervisors. Members of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Youth Hostel Association, NSS and
NCC may also be included in the teams to be sponsored by the State
Governments/UTs. Preference may be given to the
youth with special abilities and youth belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled
tribes, minorities and weaker sections.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Only such young men and
women will be eligible to participate in the National Adventure Festival who
are physically fit and who have a background in adventure sports activities.
All the participants should have to send their Medical Fitness Certificate
alongwith application form & fee on prescribed format. This time also the
Club has also decided not to allow the repeaters, who have already participated
in any of our earlier Festivals and a fee of Rs.4000/- will be charged as
Registration fee from them. Repeater should specifically mention the word, (Repeater)
against his/her name on the Registration Form.
If any person (except
Supervisors), without prior approval of the Club, is identified as having
participated earlier he/she would be sent back at his/her own expenses and no
request of any kind would be entertained and fee, if any, deposited by him/her
will be forfeited.
3. EQUIPMENT
Each
participant and supervisor will come equipped with their own trek suit,
Hunter/Sports shoes, two pairs of socks, toiletries, pen/pencil, note-book,
woolen cloths, cap/hat, blankets, monkey
cap, water bottle, torch, dark sun glasses, plate,
tumbler and rain-coat etc. In addition to it, each participant will bring with
him/her a sleeping bag, a rucksack and a mattress. National Adventure Club (India ) will
provide the same against hire charges and security. The hire charges for
rucksack, sleeping bag and mattress will be Rs.200/-, Rs.200/- and Rs.50/-
respectively whereas the refundable security will be Rs.1000/-, Rs.1000/- and
Rs.500/- respectively. No equipment will be provided by the National Adventure
Club (India )
free of cost in any circumstances.
4. EXPENDITURE
Participants
& Supervisors or their sponsoring Agency will bear all expenses during the
journey to and from Chandigarh .
However, all boarding and lodging expenses including transport and expenses
relating to all adventure activities will be borne by the Club.
5. REGISTRATION
Each participant will be required to deposit
Rs.1500/- as Registration Fee for participation in the Festival except in case
of programme No. 4 & 5 where the
Registration Fee is Rs.2500/- per participant.
10% discount will be given to those Clubs/Associations, which are
affiliated to National Adventure Club (India ). A separate proforma is being enclosed (at
Annexure-“B”) for those Clubs and Associations which are interested to
get themselves affiliated to the NAC (I), Chandigarh .
The Bio-data of the participants
should specifically mention earlier experience in adventure activities. Each participant is required to give their
options out of the programmes from the list of these programmes. The proforma
for Registration of participants is enclosed at Annexure-“A”. You can also fill forms online at http://www.nacindia.in

preference of the participant will be processed along-with their experience,
which will be supported with certificates and other documentary evidence and
they will be intimated regarding the selection for participation in the
National Adventure Festival by the end of December,
2012 so that they can make their reservations and other travel plans in
advance.

All the sponsoring Agencies are required to send duly
filled in Registration forms and bio-data of the participants and supervisors
along-with their Registration fee @Rs.1500/- per participant latest by 30th November, 2012 positively addressed
to National Adventure Club (India),
Chandigarh, # 2442, Sector 27C, Chandigarh-160019, INDIA. After 30th
November, 2012, a late fee of Rs.500/- per participant shall have to pay upto 31st
December, 2012 and thereafter one can get registered his/her name with a late
fee of Rs.2000/- upto 31st January, 2013. No name will be registered
after 31st January, 2013 at any cost. No application without forms and fee will be entertained, rest of the
fee will be charged at Chandigarh
on arrival.
Like previous year, this year also National
Adventure Club (India )
has decided to allot seats to all State(s)/UT(s)/Organisations/Clubs/
Associations well in advance in all above mentioned programmes as per the
details given below:
Each State will be allotted
22 seats (including 1 male & 1 female supervisor) in following pattern,
however supervisor(s) will be allowed to go separately in any first two
packages only:

Each UT/
Organisations/Clubs/Associations will be allotted 16 seats (including 1 male
& 1 female supervisor) in following pattern, however supervisor(s) will be
allowed to go separately in any first two packages only:

Once the seat is allotted to participants by this
Club, they will not be allowed to change their package allotted and no fee
deposited will be refunded, in any case. All the selected participants will be required to
report to Chandigarh
on 2nd February, 2013.
All the participants will have to participate in an acclimatization trek from
Kalka to Kasauli on 3rd February, 2013. All the participants will be
reporting back to Chandigarh
after having performed various adventure activities on 9th of
February, 2013. There will be a Closing Ceremony on 10th of February, 2013.
The 10th February, 2013 will be devoted to debriefing
sessions & experience showing and cultural exchange followed by 'Badakhana'.
I would also like to bring
your kind notice that National Adventure Club (India ) has constituted two
prestigious awards namely, “Bharat
Gaurav” and “Adamaya Sahas Puruskar”
to recognise and honour outstanding
adventurous achievements. These awards are granted to outstanding adventure
sportsmen, who have achieved feats of International and National acclaim in
fields like mountaineering, trekking, rock climbing, water sports, acqua
sports, aero sports or any other dare devil activity. “Bharat Gaurav”
contains a prize money of Rs.31,000/-
cash, a plaque and a certificate whereas “Adamaya Sahas Puruskar”
awardees would be given a prize money of Rs.21,000/- cash, a plaque and a certificate The proforma for claiming
Puruskar is enclosed at Annexure-“C”.
