Ramanjot and Bimal win gold in sqay
CHANDIGARH, JULY 21
Ramanjot Kaur of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8 claimed gold medal in the girls under-17 below 36 kg class on the opening day of the 5th Chandigarh State Sub-Junior Sqay Championship at the Sector 10 Skating Rink here today. Santosh of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Manimajra bagged silver medal.
In the boys under 17 (below 47 kg) competition, Bimal of Government High School, Sector 7 won the top honours while Deepak of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8 finished runner-up.
Earlier, Chandigarh Olympic Association general secretary Ravinder Talwar, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the championship.
Results: Girls under-17 (-36 kg): 1 Ramanjot Kaur (GMSSS-8), 2 Santosh (GMSSS, Mannimjra), 3 Rajbir (GMSSS-MHC) and Indu (GMSSS-8).
Boys under-17 (-47 kg): 1 Bimal (GHS-7), 2 Deepak (GMSSS-8), 3 Prabhat (Sikha School-46) and GMSSS-MHC).
