Arjun Erigaisi's victory over USA's Leinier Dominguez Perez has positioned India on the brink of winning its first gold in the Open section of the 45th Chess Olympiad. With a lead of 19 points, India is ahead of China, who have 17 points. In the women's section, India and Kazakhstan are tied at 17 points each.
