SC directs Amrapali Group to reveal transactions with Dhoni

The Supreme Court has directed real estate group Amrapali to reveal all its transactions with MS Dhoni.

Chennai Super Kings Dhoni and former team India captain has sued the company for ₹ 40 crore outstanding amount from his endorsement deal with the company. He has also accused the Amrapali Group of not giving him possession of a house despite taking payment for the property.

Dhoni has also pleaded in the court that his name should be added to the company’s creditors list. More than 46,000 homebuyers have sued the company for not delivering the promised houses even after the payments were made.

In Dhoni’s case, the Supreme Court today (Tuesday) has directed the Amrapali Group to declare all their financial transactions with MS Dhoni by tomorrow (Wednesday).

Dhoni has pleaded that he had booked a penthouse in the Amrapali Safari project in Ranchi. He had also made the down payment. However, he did not get the possession of the property. His claims also include dues from the period when he was Amrapali Group’s brand ambassador.

Earlier, the court had sent the group CMD Anil Sharma and two directors Shiv Deewani and Ajay Kumar to police custody even when the hearing in the case against them was still in progress.

The court had earlier also directed that a five star hotel, luxury cars, mall, FMCG company and corporate office owned by the Amrapali Group should be attached and sold to recover the money dud to home buyers.
