Michael Cassel Group to produce Women’s T20 WC opening ceremony

Michael Cassel Group has won the mandate to produce the opening ceremony at the he ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

A spectacular opening celebration for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will take place immediately prior to the blockbuster first match of the women’s tournament between hosts Australia and India at Sydney Showground Stadium on 21 February 2020.

Tickets to all 23 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup matches, including the opening celebration in Sydney, have adult tickets from $20 and all kids’ tickets are $5

The opening night of the women’s tournament will take place on Friday, February 21 next year, and feature defending champions and hosts Australia playing India in a blockbuster match under lights.

The Michael Cassel Group have been appointed to produce a spectacular pre-match show befitting a major global event, where fans from across Australia and around the world will come together to experience the biggest women’s sporting event ever held in Australia.

Sydney-based Michael Cassel Group’s long list of credits include the first international touring production of the world’s number one musical, Disney’s The Lion King, the Australian premiere production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the upcoming Australian leg of the acclaimed international spectacular, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

In 2020, fans have the opportunity to experience not just one but two World Cups in Australia, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup taking place later in the year, from October 18 to November 15.
