PKL Season VI auction: Day 1 Live Updates

  • The auction process for the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season VI has started at Mumbai today with the player draft for the New Young Players. It is mandatory for each of the 12 franchisees to acquire a minimum of three players from the New Young Players’ pool of 87 buddying youngsters. 

    The New Young Players will be drafted for a fixed salary of ₹6.6 lakh.

    Even as the Player Draft for the New Young Players is underway, the live broadcast of the auction will start only in the evening when as the franchisees will bid for the Category A Domestic players.

    The bid for the Category A domestic players will start at ₹20 lakh. Category B, C & D players will go under the hammer at the respective base price of ₹ 12 lakh,₹ 8 lakh and ₹ 5 lakh.

    The PKL Season VI auction will go live on Star Sports Network and Hotstar App and website.

  • The draft has started for young players, updates coming soon!
  • Amit from Haryana has been added to the player pool. He plays in defender-left cover position.
  • Sandeep is injured, will take two months to recover.
  • Nilesh Shinde, Arjun Singh Choudhary and Govind Panwar have been removed from the player auction pool.

The stage is finally set for the “first raid” of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season VI.

The two-day PKL player auction for the season 6 will start today from 10 am at the Renaissance, Powai, in Mumbai.

Insidesport will provide the live updates of the player auction from the venue – as it happens, when it happens.

The 12 PKL franchisees will be engaged in an intense battle to line up their squad for the upcoming season. A total of 422 players will go under the hammer includes 58 foreigners and 87 budding youngsters drawn from the Future Kabaddi Heroes talent scouting programme.

The overseas talent has representation from 14 countries, including Iran, Bangladesh, Japan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

This time it will be exciting to see if PKL will get its first ₹ 1 crore star, especially when last year, the new entrants UP Yoddhas have acquired Nitin Tomar for ₹93 lakh, the highest ever in the highest ever in the history of Vivo Pro Kabaddi.
